Over the pond and beside the bridge,
Hard to forget and also lovely.
The curtain opens, revealing the brightest night;
The bamboo mattress is rolled up; it's already chill.
Where its light flows, rapid water-flowers rise;
When its beams issue forth, the cloud-leaves are fresh.
Heng-o has no powder or eyebrow-paint,
But proudly displays all her natural charms.
