A year's flowers in the grove die in a day;
At the pavilion by the river I linger in grief.
Chanting over and again, and fingering them, really what's the use?
Already falling but still blooming, like grief not fully let go.
Mountain hue spreads, enveloping the small park;
Springtime shadows long to linger by the high tower.
Golden saddles flash out, silver water clock drips:
In whose house shall I get drunk, and play the hook-of-white-jade?
