The first time
I saw her
Was in Yu Liang Tower;
And her waist was slender
As the willow trees
Of Wu Chang
In the spring.
I met her—
And ever since
My heart has longed
For her.
It was like a dream.
And to this day
I know not
If it were more
Than the passing of a cloud,
Or a sudden gust of rain.
