The red is gone, the plum-tree ashes still fragrant.
For ten long years wood-worm have bred In painted beams,
What hungry beetles would not eat Piles up in broken yellows.
Orchid petals wither, Peach-leaves grow long.
Hanging blinds of the Palace Exclude imperial light.
In Hua-ch’ing springs, arsenic stone Boiling the water,
Where once a white phoenix wandered, Following their prince.
