CARVED jade heavy on screen-lintels,
Light gauze veils the open gates.
From leaden wells we draw the flowering water,
Our fans ornate with mandarin ducks and drakes.
Whirling snow dances through the Hall of Coolness.
Sweet dew washes the emerald air.
Silken sleeves are wheeling and hovering,
The fragrant sweat that soaks them, jewels of grain.
