TO AN islet where white duckweed grows,
Liu Yün comes home, riding upon his horse.
The head of the river is fragrant with quince,
Over its shores butterflies flutter about.
Wine in the cups like dew from bamboo-leaves,
Her jade-pegged lute of hollow paulownia from Shu.
A waterway runs past the scarlet tower,
Where the sand is warm, you'll find a pair of fish.
