THE Shores of Parting are dark this morning,
The silken bed-hangings mournful at midnight.
Magpies leave the moon of threaded silk,
Flowers fill the towers where clothes are aired.
Up in the sky, half of a golden mirror,
Down among men, we gaze at a jade hook.
In Ch'ien-t'ang city, Su Hsiao-hsiao
Endures the autumn of yet one more year.
