ARRIVING through purple fields with storms of dust,
There's none but claims to have seen the flowers.
The thousand peach-trees in Hsüan-tu Shrine
Were all planted after Mr Liu's departure.
Everywhere along the road, swirling dust of red and purple petals: Not a soul who's not just back from viewing blossoms. In the Xuandu Temple, a thousand peach trees $grow$. All were planted after the departure of Old Liu. |

長安の大通りには、あかいつちぼこりがたって、顔にふつふつ當たってくる。ぞろぞろと引きもきらず通る人々は、みんな花見の返りだといわない人はない$どこの花を見に行ったのだといえば、それは玄都觀の桃の花だ$。玄都觀の境内には桃の木が千本もある。それがみんな、このおれさま劉さんが都にいなくなってから植えたものなんだ。あんなものは昔は一本もなかった。
紫陌（しはく）の紅塵（こうぢん） 面（おもて）を拂（はら）うて來（きた）る。 人（ひと）の、花（はな）を看（み）て囘（かへ）ると道（い）はさるは無（な）し。 玄都（げんと）觀裏（くわんり） 桃千樹（ももせんじゅ）、 盡（ことごと）く是（こ）れ劉郎（りうらう）去（さ）って後（のち）に栽（う）う。 紫陌の紅塵 面を拂うて來る。 人の、花を看て囘ると道はさるは無し。 玄都觀裏 桃千樹、 盡く是れ劉郎去って後に栽う。 |
