Now twelev autumns have passed, and we meet again near Lake Tung-
t'ing. I never really deserved the gift of shoes from the palace; I am now
fully tired of climbing to the upper story and singing of separation from
home. You have a well-mellowed talent that is unique; But once dropped
from the Court, you have found it hard to rise again. Unworthy though
I am, Li and Tu have often been mentioned together; Now these cold
clouds and cold chrysanthemums will double my loneliness without your
company.
