In these Wu Mountains, I am old and sick, And detained among the
sojourners in Ch'u. Though only a few packages of old medicine are
now left, Flowers have burst forth again on last year's bushes. The rain
last night must have soaked the sandy beach; The wind this spring is
against the current of the stream. I should have been in Ch'ang-an to
receive the customary gift of two writing-brushes from the palace, But
I am still a thistledown in the wind.
