Behind the rough wooden gate of my hermit friend, Autumn vegetables
grow in the garden surrounding his house. A whole basket of shallots
still wet with dew, He has sent, without my even writing to beg for
them. Every bundle has the appearance of light-green grass; All of the
bulblets have the color of white jade. The stomach of an old man dreads
cold, The warming taste of these will surely bring some comfort.
